CAROLE BLEVINS studied watercolor with Charles Reid, Edward Betts and George Shook. Her works have been exhibited in Positive Negative, the Henley Paper Show in Winston-Salem, N.C. and at the Virginia Highlands Festival, which commissioned her to produce the signature artwork for the 2004 Festival. Her skills in teaching are surpassed only by her masterful technique in this medium.

EDMUND CHITWOOD has more than 20 years experience in photography and graphic arts. His formal education includes Presbyterian College, LaGrange College, and the Academe de Champerimere in Paris, where he studied under Pierre Jerome. Ed has taught VHCC'S 2-D design classes at the Arts Center for two years.

KATHY GIBIAN is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in fine arts. Additional studies have included the Adult Studio Program of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Penland School of Crafts, and private study. Her numerous awards include honors from the Alabama Watercolor Society, Montgomery Art Guild Museum, the Selma Art Guild, and the Virginia Watercolor Society. Kathy has been involved with the Arts Center for more than five years, teaching classes for both children and adults, and has been a resident studio artist since January 2001.

MARILYN HOWER, a graduate of Wake Forest University, Marilyn began quilting in 1985 following a life-long interest in fabrics and all types of needle art. She became a quilting instructor in 1991, and lectures and teaches in shops, guilds, and symposiums in the region. Her work is exhibited nationwide. Marilyn's quilting style is very geometric as opposed to pictorial.

PAT JESSEE, both an artist and arts educator, is manager of Adult Education & Community Programs at the Arts Center. Her teaching emphasis is in global cultures, specializing in dance, music & art. She holds an M.F.A. from Tulane University in New Orleans.

LISA M. JONES, a working artist/photographer, holds a master's degree in fine arts from East Tennessee State University and a bachelor's in fine arts from Virginia Intermont. She has also completed studies in a graduate program concentrating in Photography at Clemson University.

VAL LYLE graduated from Ringling School of Art and Design in Florida with a bachelor of fine arts degree and holds a master of fine arts degree from East Tennessee State University. Lyle also attended Baruch College in New York and has participated in numerous workshops in sculpture, pottery, printmaking and other media. Her works have been exhibited in Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, New York, Georgia, Florida and Hawaii.

SAM MORROW holds a bachelor's of fine art from St. Martin's School of Art in London. He received his master's of fine arts from London's The Royal College of Art. Morrow is currently teaching at Virginia Intermont College and has taught oil painting, drawing and banjo classes at the Arts Center. He has also taught in Tennessee, New York and Ohio.

HENRY REED has worked for over 30 years in the area of dreams and intuition. His Sundance: The Community Dream Journal helped spark the national dreamwork movement, and Reed himself has been called the "Father of Dreamwork." Reed's personal, dream-inspired watercolors have been exhibited at the Virginia Beach Center for the Arts. He is a Senior Fellow at the Edgar Cayce Institute of Intuitive Studies. Recently he held a three-day workshop on Intuition and Watercolor for the Virginia Watercolor Society.
